What is Learning Design and Technology?

JMU Learning Design and Technology graduate programs prepare leaders in any workplace in the application of technologies, strategies, research, and theories, to learning contexts. Our students and alumni work in K-12 schools, higher education institutions and other lifelong/professional learning contexts, in the education sector, for government agencies and contractors, etc. Some individuals pursue doctoral work upon completion of the graduate programs, and while many students are working adults, we also welcome students directly from any undergraduate program.

About the JMU’s Learning Design and Technology Graduate Programs

Our 100% online graduate program serves learners who are interested in designing interactive and innovative learning experiences that enhance learning for all.

We offer two programs designed for those who work or intend to work, in education. Each of our programs, including our Master of Education with a concentration in Learning Design and Technology and our Educational Technology Graduate Certificate will provide you with techniques and use cases for learning with and through technology.

Upon graduation from any of our LDT programs, you will be prepared to advance in the workplace, make career changes, or pursue doctoral work in the field.
