Banner Contest
The Paw Spangled Banner
“O say can you see…Duke Dog for President!!!” This year let’s remix the Star Spangled Banner for our one and only DUKE DOG and call it PAW-Spangled Banner. The Banner competition asks clubs and organizations to make a banner to show your patriotism for our Duke Dog as he is JMU’s candidate for Presidency. The banner can be submitted anytime on or before Friday October 17th at 3 p.m. On October 20th the banners will be hung in Transitions for judging. Banners will also be made available for viewing and online voting. Following the judging, all banners will be hung on the side of Godwin for the remainder of Homecoming.

Wednesday, Oct. 29

Commons Day 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Land of the Free Home of the Dukes
Come join Duke Dog on the Commons to celebrate "Land of the Free, Home of the Dukes" and enjoy plenty of FREE food, games, including an eating contest, and lots of prizes! Make your own edible "campaign button"; compete in a calk walk or sumo wrestling! Hop on the bandwagon and stop by the Commons!

Incentives Auction

Hail to the Dawg
Location: Festival Drum
During Homecoming week students can receive Duke Dog Dollars for participation in various Homecoming events and also can obtain them through a variety of other means (i.e. finding them, wearing JMU apparel, asking a Homecoming Committee member questions about the events, etc.) Students use these Duke Dog Dollars to bid on (FREE) prizes at the Homecoming auction.

You're officially invited to the Campaign Afterparty! Join us for FREE food, entertainment, and games. Show up in your best costume - you may even win a prize!

Friday, Oct. 31

Homecoming Alumni Golf Tournament
8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Location: Lakeview Golf Course
Your registration package includes green fees, cart, snacks, beverage vouchers, JMU Alumni gift pack, breakfast, lunch, and an awards presentation. awards go to the top three and the last place teams, with first place scoring an invitation to the Madison Cup tourney. There will be a $10,000 Hole-in-one hole and Closest to the Pin and Long Drive contests. Registration is $90 for an individual, and $325 for a team of four.

Spirit Walk/Parade

March on Madison
Take a stand! Duke Dog wants YOU to join in the Homecoming fun by cheering on your classmates as they rally up support for their clubs and organizations. Line the streets, enjoy some free popcorn and candy, and show your JMU spirit!

Sunset on the Quad
6 – 9 p.m.
Paws and Stripes Forever
Sunset on the Quad will be an all-out party on the Quad! Taking place this year on HALLOWEEN, this fun-filled evening will be full of performances by JMU’s various a cappella groups, dance groups, and other forms of entertainment will be present. There will be plenty of games to play and participate in and FREE FOOD will definitely add to the fun! Sunset’s theme this year is Paws and Stripes Forever, so come out and show your JMU pride in all of your purple and gold attire!!

JMU's 1st Annual Homecoming Poker Tournament and Casino Night
8 p.m.
Location: Festival Ballroom
Come spend your evening wagering for fun and dealing for the Dukes! The evening will feature a poker tournament for the card Players and fun casino games for the rest. Open to all alumni, the 100-seat tournament will be no-limit Texas Hold'em and will be played until one winner emerges! Roulette, craps and other casino favorites will be available along with food and drink all night long for everyone. Tickets are $50 for poker tournament entrants, and $20 for all others. All tickets get you food, soft drinks and chips for the casino games. Tournament entrants will also receive a base amount of chips for the tournament. Cash bar available.

Saturday, Nov. 1

13th Annual Dukes 5K Fun Walk/Run
8 a.m.
Start Homecoming Saturday off right with the UREC 5K, open to all JMU faculty, staff, students, alumni and the surrounding community. For $12 (pre-registered) or $15 (day-of), participants will enjoy a run through campus, and the first 75 to register will receive a Homecoming 5K t-shirt! Register at www.jmu.edu/recreation

Chalk Talk with the Coach
10 – 11 a.m.
Location: Grand Ballroom, FCSC
Hear JMU’s first football coach, Dr. Challace McMillin discuss the day’s opponent (Delaware), the JMU team, and the strategies the Dukes need to win. Hear his thoughts on what to watch for during the game, and his predictions. Special guests may drop by, so make sure to be there!

Alumni Village Tailgate
1:30 p.m.
Location: Godwin Field
Reconnect with all your friends in the ultimate gameday experience of a JMU tailgate! The tailgate area will be open to everyone, and food will be available for purchase a la carte, along with a cash bar open to our participants.

Homecoming Tailgating Contests
Are you full of JMU Spirit and want to show it off? Join us in the 3rd annual Homecoming Tailgating Contests. there is a Spirit Contest for the most festive and most JMU crazy tailgate, and a Entree Contest for the best tailgate food. Entry is free, but limited to the first 50 in each competition. Enter now to get in, and compete for the top prizes in each category! Champions in each category get a banner to hang from their tailgate for life, proclaiming their excellence!

Inaugural Alumni Group Homecoming Competition
Each alumni group may reserve a table within the Homecoming Alumni Tailgate and compete in the "Ballot Box Blow-Out" and "Spirit Contest." Alumni groups, this is your opportunity to promote and grow your alumni group!

Football Game
3:30 p.m.
Location: Bridgeforth Stadium
Cheer on the Dukes as they play Delaware – always a difficult conference game!

Post Game Festival
After the game, the party doesn't stop! Join us in Godwin Parking Lot for a post-game celebration with the JMU Duke Club. All the entertainers from before the game will be back on hand, along with a live band and other activities for the family.

Dinner at D-Hall
After the game, head to D-Hall to relive those college meal memories! The Fresh Food Company at Gibbons Hall (bettern known as Dhall) will feature lots of purple and gold, so continue the celebration at D-Hall with the 5th best food in the country (according to the 2007 Princeton Reveiw).

CMSS Homecoming Step Show
Doors open at 6:30pm, Show starts at 8pm

Tickets are available online through the CMSS website: www.jmu.edu/multicultural. Tickets will also be available for purchase through the University Business Office, Warren Hall, Monday October 20-31st. $10.00 in Advance and $15.00 at the Door.
