Let’s come together to embrace the incredible diversity of our campus: explore new cultures, eat new food, and learn about opportunities to study abroad. 2024 I-Week Student Photo Contest

Prizes: Each category will have three finalists whose photos will be printed and displayed during I-Week.
Winning photos will be selected by you and announced after I-Week.
- Finalists receive $25 Flex cash + framed print of their photo
- Category winners receive $50 Flex cash + framed print of their photo
- Grand prize winner receives $99 Flex cash + framed print of their photo

In celebration of I-Week, UREC Adventure and International Student & Scholar Services are working in collaboration to offer a hiking experience for international students and American students to explore together. Registered participants will ride together in a UREC van out to the High Knob trail head for a 2.7 mile out and back hike. Lunch will be provided! Participants must wear closed toed shoes. Contact isss@jmu.edu to reserve your spot.

Join us for the kickoff of International Week 2024 with an inspiring keynote speaker, Shalini Kantayya. Shalini is a renowned filmmaker and director known for her work on social justice, technology, and the environment. She is one of the leading voices at the intersection of renewable energy, artificial intelligence ethics, social equity, and the societal impacts of technology. The event will also include an excerpt from her 2022 film, “TikTok, Boom.” Don’t miss this opportunity to gain valuable insights from Shalini Kantayya!

Learn how to make unique dishes from around the world. This class will different vegan recipes from around the world and learn the benefits of a vegan diet. This class will highlight the health benefits and variety of a vegan diet. Spots are limited. Register now!

The International Bazaar is a free event that will feature vendors, food, music, displays, and entertainment in the heart of campus. Vendors and student groups, bringing merchandise from around the world, will be there. Exploring Global Opportunities: Navigating International Internships, Fellowships, and Globally Focused Careers with CISR

The Harrisonburg International Festival is returning to downtown Harrisonburg this year with an exciting new format! There will be international food trucks and artisan booths, catch up with friends and neighbors at the Global Village, businesses will be hosting entertainment, educational, and interactive “pop-ups” of all kinds. Get out and experience Harrisonburg’s diverse culture and the festival’s longstanding ethos: “Educate, Entertain, and Eat!”
