Freshman Need-based
To be eligible for need-based scholarships at JMU, you must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The largest need-based scholarship is the Centennial Scholars Program.

Madison Scholarships Hub is the application center for all JMU Foundation scholarships at James Madison University. This includes our incoming scholarship programs, so please make sure to review the information above for application eligibility information for those scholarships. To log in to Madison Scholarships Hub, go to MyMadison and under the Applicant tab click on the logo for Madison Scholarships Hub. Qualifications for the majority of our scholarships are based on the general application information as well as information pulled directly from your admissions application. Deadlines vary across departments so be sure to complete the general application as soon as possible to receive full consideration. Review the criteria carefully for any recommended scholarship opportunity you are presented with and if you meet the qualifications, click apply to submit additional required information. The majority of our scholarships become available beginning in January, although some may have earlier or later start dates so be sure to check back in February and March to potentially see additional scholarship opportunities.
