The CISE Faculty Council represents the interests of faculty members in the College of Integrated Science and Engineering. Specific responsibilities of the Council are defined in the Faculty Handbook, including curriculum oversight and hearing faculty appeals. Beyond that, the Council advises the CISE Dean and participates in matters of planning, budget, and policy for the college.

Standing subordinate committees of the Council include the CISE Curriculum & Instruction Committee (C&I), and the CISE Faculty Leaves, Awards, and Grants Committee (FLAG).  The Council may create other ad-hoc committees as needed.

The Council includes seven members, two from each academic unit and one at-large.

Current Members:

  • Mohamad Aboutabl, Computer Science (term ends 2023)
  • Amy Goodall, School of Integrated Sciences (term ends 2023)
  • Tolu Odumosu, School of Integrated Sciences (term ends 2024)

  • Ahmad Salman, Chair, Computer Science (term ends 2024)
  • Brad Striebig, Engineering (term ends 2023)

The role of the council necessarily entails regular communication with faculty and with the Dean. Council members meet with their academic unit peers through regular unit faculty meetings, and the Council meets with the faculty as a whole in periodic college faculty meetings. Faculty members are also welcome to contact members directly with any questions.
