Clarence Morgan - Notes and Ideas: Selected Works
16 August – 24 September 2010
Curated by Gary Freeburg
The recent paintings by Wampler Distinguished Professor Clarence Morgan present a beguiling dilemma for the viewer. Meaning must be excavated between an ontological impulse and a poetic impression. Morgan wishes to approach the truth of the nature of things in his work. This is an interest in the character, the essence, and the reality of the world.
