Catherine Stack Artist Talk
Thursday, Nov 21st 5-7pm

The Never-Ending Thread showcases the versatility of embroidery as a contemporary art medium. Bringing together nationally and internationally recognized artists, the exhibition explores embroidery’s historical traditions and demonstrates its experimental capacities as a visual language. Artworks range from pictorial and painterly, to sculptural and mixed media pieces, and there is an emphasis on experimentation and intersecting media. Themes addressed in the exhibition include disability, LGBTQ+ identities and gender formation, social and environmental activism, and biography, creating a platform for meaningful reflection. Encapsulating this broad spectrum of approaches to embroidery, this exhibition reveals that this long-standing art form is indeed a “never-ending thread.”
