Mon, 17 Apr 2023 10:15 AM - Wed, 19 Apr 2023 3:00 PM
Join colleagues to explore ways of creating meaningful access, equity, and inclusion in our classes.
Inherent in our roles as faculty members is making sure that all of our students have meaningful access to learning opportunities in our classrooms. But, particularly in this COVID-altered landscape, when many students are struggling to stay engaged and many faculty are experiencing burnout or dissatisfaction, we need support in creating meaningful access for a broad range of students.
In this interactive workshop we will explore
- Strategies and building community around addressing common barriers students experience
- Implementing universal design and other proactive approaches to accessibility
- Valuing the many and varied ways our diverse students learn
- Understanding that by considering access needs for students with disabilities and neurodiverse students, we open up access for all students
No matter where you are on your inclusive teaching journey, please bring your ideas, questions, challenges and selves to this space, and join colleagues in exploring ways of creating meaningful access, equity and inclusion in our classes.
For accessibility, we are offering one in-person and one online workshop.
