Center for Faculty Innovation

This reading group will bring together faculty from across campus to discuss the book Unraveling Faculty Burnout by Rebecca Pope-Ruark. Participants are expected to complete readings from the book prior to each session.

Feel free to bring your lunch!

During the sessions, participants will engage in a mix of reflection, discussion, and activities to delve more deeply into understanding how burnout affects them, how to set better work-life boundaries, and create/maintain meaning in their work.

This book club is ideal for instructional faculty members at all ranks and stages of their careers, including adjuncts. The book is available as an e-book from the JMU Libraries or participants can request a paper copy courtesy of the CFI. Participants will read the book in stages across this five-week reading group. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet with the author and discuss the book on 4/10 after her talk to the campus community (1:30 - 2:30 PM).

Program Dates & Time: Mondays 2/26, 3/4, 3/18, 3/25, and 4/1, from 11:30 AM - 1 PM
