Description: In this workshop, participants can learn about the onboarding process for various position types, including Faculty, Classified, and Wage employees. Participants will also gain insight into:
- Hiring Foreign Nationals: Navigating the complexities of hiring international staff.
- Compliance Requirements: Understanding I-9 and background check procedures.
- IT and System Access: Ensuring new hires have the necessary tools and access from day one.
Additionally, this training provides a comprehensive overview of the UConnect Orientation program, a year-long initiative aimed at supporting new faculty and staff. Learn how departments can effectively assist new employees throughout heir first year, fostering a smooth transition and successful start to their career at JMU.
