JMU receives Sun Belt Conference student-athlete award

Student-Athlete Graduation Success Rate Award
JMU was one of four schools to receive the Student-Athlete Graduation Success Rate Award at the Sun Belt Conference annual honors banquet on Oct. 22.

James Madison University was one of four schools to receive a departmental academic honor as the Sun Belt Conference held its annual Honors Banquet on Oct. 22 in conjunction with the league's fall meetings.

JMU joined App State, Coastal Carolina and Georgia State in receiving the Student-Athlete Graduation Success Rate Award. The honor is bestowed upon all institutions that are acknowledged in the annual NCAA Division I Graduation Rate Awards with a 90% or above.

The banquet also included the formal recognition of the SBC Faculty of the Year Award, which was announced last week. JMU professor Dr. Geary Albright was the winner of the leaguewide honor. Dr. Albright is a physics and astronomy professor and Director of the John C. Wells Planetarium.
