JMU Arts to Host Pops Plus! Sept. 27
A Collaborative Arts Celebration for Student Scholarships

James Madison University’s (JMU) College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) proudly presents Pops Plus! A CVPA Collaborative Arts Celebration For Student Scholarships on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 8 p.m. at the Atlantic Union Bank Center. All event proceeds, including tickets and auction items, directly benefit CVPA students, helping make their dreams a reality in the Arts at JMU.
Pops Plus! builds on the beloved JMU Family Weekend tradition, the JMU POPS! Concert and features a super-charged lineup of five of JMU’s premier musical ensembles. Guests will be treated to performances by the JMU Brass Band, Wind Symphony, Madison Singers and Chorale, and the Marching Royal Dukes with Colorguard. Additionally, the evening will showcase the extraordinary talents of students from JMU's School of Theatre and Dance.
“The Pops Plus! event is critical to our ongoing efforts to support student scholarships. We also want to continue demonstrating the CVPA's broad collaboration and community-building efforts with all our schools, students, and the greater community,” said Rubén Graciani, Dean of JMU’s College of Visual and Performing Arts.
Adding to the excitement, patrons can participate in a silent auction highlighting over 20 pieces of original artwork created by JMU students, faculty, and alumni from the School of Art, Design, and Art History. The auction offers a unique opportunity to acquire beautiful art while supporting the next generation of artists.
Two ticket options are available to attend this remarkable evening. General admission tickets are priced at $33. For those seeking a more exclusive experience, the $135 VIP Gala ticket includes a pre-show cocktail reception in the AUBC Club Room with drinks, dinner, and a reserved seat for the performance.
