Being the Change
Wilma Bowers has loved JMU since the first day she visited campus with her mom and a student helped them find a parking space. That spirit of community was the reason Wilma chose JMU, and the reason she continues to support the school today. In 2017, Wilma worked with 25 friends to establish the Dolley Madison Dukes Pay It Forward Scholarship Endowment. “I just gathered together the friends I knew loved JMU like I do. Everybody opened their wallets to help a deserving student experience the JMU community we know and love.” Wilma now participates on the Women for Madison Executive Advisory Council promoting the engagement and collective financial impact of women giving to JMU.
