Virginia Mann ('06)
Women For MadisonIn 2005, JMU's nursing students celebrated the 25th anniversary of the program by honing their skills and caring for victims in Hurricane Katrina's aftermath and by training in hospitals throughout the commonwealth. Virginia Mann completed an internship at Rockingham Memorial Hospital on the telemetry floor, providing comprehensive care of patients who require heart monitoring for conditions such as chest pain, irregular heart rhythms and potential cardiac problems. A shining example of JMU's nursing students, Virginia's professionalism is not just about being good at her job, it is going beyond the job. It is about being involved in the community.
"As a registered nurse with a bachelor's degree, I will be giving back to the community that helped raise and shape me. I want to be able to look back on my life and know that I made a difference in this world serving others."
