Teaching in a Time of Tragedy

Hi folksI awoke this morning to the heart-breaking news of the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history. This event, of course, follows on the heels of other tragedies (like Hurricanes Harvey and Maria) that have also affected our country.
I have turned to these two articles in the past to help guide me in tragic times:
- In the Eye of the Storm: Students' Perceptions of Helpful Faculty Actions Following a Collective Tragedy (Huston & DiPietro)
- The Day After: Faculty Behavior in Post 9/11 Climate (DiPietro)
If you don’t have time or energy to read articles right now, Vanderbilt’s Center for Teaching also
offers some quick ideas for teaching in times of crisis:

I hope these resources will help you today.
