Two cowherds blown up by landmine in Chin State’s Tedim (Myanmar)

(Mizzima) One cowherd was killed and another injured when they stepped on a landmine near to Laitui Village in Chin State’s Tedim Township on 2 May.
Zim Htang Lian, age 68 and Sum Khan Lian, age 31, two villagers from Laitui Village, were on the way to look after their cows when they stepped on the landmine.
Zim Htang Lian was killed on the spot. Sum Khan Lain was severely injured and is now seeking medical treatment in India’s Mizoram State, according to a Laitui villager.
