For decades, the mine action community has adopted a comprehensive approach to victim assistance that encompasses prevention in the form of explosive ordnance risk education, prehospital emergency care and transport, trauma care at health facilities, and rehabilitation, including not only physical rehabilitation, but also psychosocial, economic, and vocational elements.
