Saudi MASAM Clears 2,963 Houthi Mines in March

(Asharq Al-Awsat) The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's Masam project successfully demined 2,963 mines in Yemen during the first week of March 2020. This effort included the removal of 310 anti-tank and 14 anti-personnel mines, 2,637 unexploded ordnance, and two explosive devices.

Since the inception of the Masam project, a total of 148,427 landmines planted by Iranian-backed Houthi militias have been cleared. The Houthis conceal mines in various forms and colors, leading to numerous deaths and injuries among children, women, and the elderly, including severe injuries and amputations.
