(MinFin) Ukraine's National Qualifications Agency has approved the professional standard for "Explosive Ordnance Search Operator (Deminer)," as reported by the Ministry of Economy. This marks a significant step, as previously, demining operators had to independently train specialists without a unified standard. Deputy Minister Igor Bezkaravainy noted that the new standard, aligned with International Mine Action Standards (IMAS), will create uniform training rules and enhance opportunities for deminers.

This initiative is especially beneficial for veterans, who can now be trained and work with both Ukrainian and international operators. The approval process will include legal measures like assigning a profession code and organizing remuneration. Additionally, an educational standard based on this professional standard will be developed, allowing the Ministry of Education and Science to accredit certified deminers. The standard includes five training levels, covering skills from non-technical surveys to demining territories and buildings, ensuring comprehensive skill development for deminers.
