(UNDP) The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine, in collaboration with BBC Media Action, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU), launched a new mine safety educational series on the Diia.Osvita platform. Funded by the Government of Japan, the series aims to raise awareness about explosive ordnance among Ukrainians, promoting safe behavior to reduce injuries and fatalities. Ukraine, the most heavily mined country globally, faces significant risks due to landmines and unexploded ordnance.
The nine-episode series, hosted by SESU expert Ivan Shepelev, provides guidance on identifying threats, recognizing explosive devices, and responding safely. It also includes sign language interpretation to ensure accessibility. The initiative is part of the broader “Notice the Changes” campaign and emphasizes the importance of digital education in enhancing public safety, particularly for men aged 25 and older, who are at higher risk.
