(MILITARNYI) The HALO Trust Ukraine has trained 600 certified humanitarian demining instructors as part of the "Training of Trainers" initiative launched a year and a half ago. Graduates include rescuers, police officers, volunteers, teachers, and farmers, who now educate their communities on recognizing and responding to explosive threats. Thanks to their efforts, over 75,000 Ukrainians have received vital life-saving knowledge. HALO Trust, the world’s largest humanitarian demining organization, headquartered in the UK, works in regions like Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv to clear landmines and other explosive ordnance.
The organization aims to safely return land to communities, allowing them to rebuild after conflict. In 2023, HALO developed a course to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills to become mine risk instructors, empowering them to raise awareness. Recently, the National Qualifications Agency of Ukraine approved a professional standard for deminers, further advancing mine action efforts in the country.
