(Kurdistan24) "A Dream Before Dying" premiered in Erbil, highlighting the sacrifice of Kurdish bomb disposal technicians who lost their lives fighting the Islamic State (IS). The movie centers on Alan, a Peshmerga volunteer who risks his life to disarm explosive traps left by IS, a role played by Kurdish musician Delil Dilanar.

The director, Fekri Baroshi, drew inspiration from real stories of Kurdish deminers, including Dr. Suleyman Sahed Chirukaya, who saved hundreds of lives before dying from explosion injuries. Baroshi, motivated by patriotism and personal tragedy, crafted this film to honor the deminers' bravery and to raise awareness about the lingering danger of mines in Kurdistan, especially along the Iraq-Iran border, where mines from past conflicts remain deadly. Baroshi aims to share this message globally, starting in the Middle East and potentially Europe.
