(Shafaq) In 2024, Duhok’s General Directorate for Mine Affairs cleared seven agricultural plots spanning 540,301 square meters, removing 116 anti-personnel mines, 14 anti-tank mines, and 5,938 unexploded ordnance. These remnants, originating from decades of conflict, continue to endanger civilians. The directorate identified and marked five mine-contaminated sites to prevent access, while no mine-related incidents were recorded in 2024.
