Companies competing for space in today’s crowded business landscape know how important skilled professional sales teams are to their success. At the College of Business, the need to develop sales proficiencies is addressed both through the classroom and with the Center for Professional Sales (CPS).

JMU has already earned a designation as one of Sales Education Foundation's Top Universities for Professional Sales Education, and the CPS provides opportunities for students to practice the communication skills that are critical to the art of selling: setting goals, establishing rapport with potential customers and being a good listener. The new Learning Complex will provide the CPS its own dedicated spaces, something it has not had since it was established in 2014.

With the already envious record of CoB students in national sales competitions, center director Richard Tate is excited about the potential successes when the center is given room to breathe. “The new facility will promote student engagement and enhance opportunities for students to be involved with corporate professionals,” Tate says, “and students will benefit from having a modern facility where they can practice the art and science of sales, develop confidence and grow as professionals.”
