Richards to Return to Memorial Hall

SUMMARY: In the spring semester of 2021, Richards will return to the College of Education as an adjunct professor to teach Foundations of Education.


Leonard Lee Richards Jr. graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Arts in History with minors in Africana Studies, Interdisciplinary Social Sciences, and Secondary Education in 2013 and a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2014. He has taught social studies for over seven years at Waynesboro High School in Waynesboro, Virginia.  Leonard is completing the second year of his Leadership and Learning in Organizations Doctoral studies at Vanderbilt University. He is currently working on a Capstone in partnership with JMU’s College of Education and the JMU Ole School Alum, focusing on recruiting and retaining faculty of color.   In the spring semester of 2021, Leonard will return to the College of Education as an adjunct professor to teach Foundations of Education.  Currently, Leonard and his wife Deserae, also a JMU College of Education alum, reside in Harrisonburg with their 2-year-old daughter, Nehvelya.  In the spring semester, please welcome Leonard back to Memorial Hall.
