On May 9, during the Spring Commencement ceremony, James Madison University celebrated 27 doctoral graduates from seven distinct programs. Another 14 students are expected to complete their degrees by summer's end. This year, a record-breaking total of 56 doctoral degrees will be awarded, highlighting JMU's new status as an R2 university, a Doctoral University with high research activity. Read more.

Students are learning to use technology to enhance learning in schools and workplaces through our newly revised graduate degree and certificate programs in the field of Learning Design and Technology. This program welcomes students with bachelor’s degrees in any major who hope to become leaders in the use of technology in education and corporate training. Read more.

One chapter ends and another begins - Congratulations alumni! 386 master’s, 27 doctoral, and 31 certificate students became alumni on May 9th during the afternoon commencement ceremonies. Speech Language Pathology, Accounting and Secondary Education were the three programs with the most graduates.
