Hart School faculty honor outstanding graduates with awards

SUMMARY: Hart School faculty are proud to announce this year's student award recipients.


Each May the Hart School of Hospitality, Sports and Recreation Management faculty recognize exceptional seniors that have distinguished themselves over the course of their major studies. Please join us in honoring the outstanding graduates who are the recipients of these student awards.

Julie Swenton has been chosen as the Sport and Recreation Management Outstanding Graduating Senior based on a stellar academic record that includes multiple semesters on the President's List, and her involvement within and outside of the Hart School. During her academic career Julie held internships with JMU Athletics and the Washington Redskins and volunteered as support for the 2018 NCAA Final Four tournament. Julie also served as president of SLAM, The Sport and Leisure Association of Madison.

Maddie McGeary has been chosen as the Hospitality Management Outstanding Senior. Maddie has maintained an excellent academic record while serving as president of the Hart School Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and as a member of the Eta Sigma Delta Peer Advising Committee. Maddie has held industry internships with Olympus Corporation of America and the Hotel Madison, and led student contingents to two PCMA Convening Leaders Conferences.
