Accentuate Greek Week With Greek Sing
Student LifeOn Sunday, April 14th Fraternity and Sorority Life is hosting a charity event with choreographed singing and dancing by Greek Organizations in the Convocation Center from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.Proceeds will go to The Arc of Harrisonburg and Rockingham, an organization that advocates for the rights of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Greek Sing is the highlight of Greek week, an annual week of fraternity and sorority inspired fanfare. Each Greek organization can enter in a team and win in various categories. Winning grants bragging rights and pride until the next Greek Sing. Last year, Theta Chi won best props from a fraternity, Alpha Sigma Alpha and Alpha Delta Pi tied for best props from a sorority, Phi Kappa Psi won best dance from a fraternity, and Sigma Kappa won best dance for sorority. Overall, Alpha Sigma Phi won the fraternity category while Sigma Kappa won the sorority category. This year, the competition is heating up. Will Phi Kappa Psi and Sigma Kappa defend their titles or will an up and comer take it from them?
Whoever wins, this long-standing tradition will be a great time. Greek Sing has an energy that cannot be matched so make sure to come support your fraternity or sorority and cheer them on!Even if you’re not dancing or a part of a Greek organization, stop by.
If you can’t make it, make sure to check out the live-stream on the FSL Facebook page.
