Get Crazy in the Commons
Student LifeAs JMU’s campus expands, the Commons in between D‑hall and Madison Union provides a central location to bring the student body together. Student organizations, fraternities, and sororities use the space throughout the year to advertise to students and fundraise for charities. But once a month, UPB takes over the Commons and things get crazy.
The excitement was in the air and the music seemed to blast louder than it normally does during October second’s Crazy Commons. UPB uses their time in the Commons to advertise for upcoming events they are hosting. This month’s crazy afternoon in the Commons spread the word about the upcoming Comedy Night hosting Daniel Franzese, better known as Damien from Mean Girls. The UPB staff all had pink shirts on and were scattered around the Commons hosting giveaways, handing out free food, spreading the word about UPB, and generally getting crazy.
The next Crazy Commons will be on October 30th on the Commons. UPB is always creating the best events for students to attend, and Crazy Commons is the best way to discover what they are offering next. The Daniel Franzese comedy show was a hit with all attendees. He made the crowd laugh and think while giving them what they wanted, the inside scoop on Mean Girls. Keep an eye out next month for what great events UPB has in store for students next!
