Hello! My name is Justin Whetzel, and I’m excited to introduce myself as the Program Coordinator for the Lifelong Learning Institute. Having previously worked in the Outreach & Engagement office as a student assistant in the summer of 2013, I’m ecstatic to reunite with familiar colleagues and serve in a more permanent role with the School of Professional and Continuing Education. I graduated from JMU in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a minor in family studies. Attending college was a transformative experience for me, and it ignited a passion within myself for continuous growth and education. My hope is to inspire others to challenge themselves to achieve their educational goals, whether that be taking a non-credit class, completing a certificate course, or pursuing a degree. Learning is one of the most beautiful aspects of living. Through learning, we not only grow as individuals, we become more deeply connected to our community and the world. I look forward to working with the SPCE community and encouraging students in the Lifelong Learning Institute.
In my spare time, I enjoy going to concerts, discovering new music, watching films, and spending time with my dog, Calvin.
