Meghan Schenker-Fulcher is the assistant director of Women of Madison at James Madison University as of February 2023. She has worked in the educational arena for 19 years. Recently Meghan has served as the instructional coach for Harrisonburg city schools. For the past nine years Meghan has provided real-time professional development and coaching to teachers to help build their capacity. Her current school, Stonespring Elementary, has the distinction of being the only Harrisonburg elementary school designated as an art integration school. Prior to becoming a coach Meghan taught for 10 years. She worked with special education and general education students in preschool and first grade.
Meghan’s passion lies in her ability to serve her community. She has served on several local boards since arriving in Harrisonburg in 2017. Currently she is serving as chair of grants for the Harrisonburg Education Foundation and is a member of the newly founded Any Given Child Shenandoah Valley, a nonprofit organization focused on access and equity in the arts for students in grades K through 8. Meghan is also a member of Rotary International and started the first satellite club in her district in September 2019. She founded the club with the vision of creating a place where service-minded individuals can impact the community in new and diverse ways. Meghan's other passions involve hiking with her husband and dog, finding new wineries around the Shenandoah Valley and yoga.
