EmpowHER is an event series that provides resistance training programming designed for JMU women (students, faculty, and staff). Women have the opportunity to experience the weight room in a comfortable, educational, and open setting. The goal of EmpowHER is to provide relevant knowledge and tools needed to develop confidence in incorporating weight training into your own exercise plan.
Fall 2024 Program:
Our EmpowHER team is excited to take on the new semester by offering a new series of weekly workout programs! Each week will include a full body workout, as well as take-home information on a variety of health and fitness-related topics. Weekly programs will include the use of resistance bands, kettlebells, dumbbells, Olympic lifting, and much more.
Goal: To build both strength and confidence so you can safely and effectively execute resistance training routines whether you’re at home or at the gym!
Who: Any JMU affiliated woman (faculty, staff, students) of any fitness level.
When: Thursdays from 5:30 – 6:30pm, starting the second week of each semester.
Where: Godwin Hall room 116A, unless stated otherwise on the registration email.
Cost: Free!
