EmpowHER is a weekly resistance training programming designed for JMU women (students, faculty, alumni, and staff) of any fitness level. Women have the opportunity to experience the weight room in a comfortable, educational, and welcoming setting. During EmpowHER sessions women develop the relevant knowledge and skills needed to build confidence in incorporating weight training into their own exercise routines.
The EmpowHER team offers a new series of weekly workout programs each semester! Each week will include a full body workout and may include the use of resistance bands, kettlebells, dumbbells, Olympic lifting, and much more.
Goal: To help women build both strength and confidence to safely and effectively execute resistance training routines whether you’re at home or at the gym!
Who: Any JMU affiliated woman of any fitness level.
When: Thursdays from 5:30 – 6:30pm, starting the second week of each semester.
Where: Godwin Hall room 116A, unless stated otherwise on the registration email.
Cost: Free!
