Healthy Kids is a weekly program that teaches children, ages 3 to 4, basic nutrition and motor development concepts through age-appropriate, fun, and engaging activities.

This semester, the MBC Healthy Kids Committee is partnering with JMU’s own Young Children’s Program. The Young Children’s Program is a local preschool located on JMU’s campus. The MBC’s Healthy Kids committee delivers weekly physical activity and nutrition lessons such as “Fruits are Good for our Hearts”, “Protein Builds Strong Muscles”, “Healthy Snacks Keep us Full”, and practice with running, hopping, sliding, and kicking.

The students  also go home with information to help their parents see what they are learning and reinforce a healthy active lifestyle at home. Our goals are to help  children learn about fundamental motor skills and basic nutrition that they can use for a lifetime.

We can’t wait to get started on a semester full of learning and fun!
