Older Women's Wellness for Life (OWWL; a program that evolved from our Alumni Health and Wellness Program) is a one-day event designed for women ages 55 and older to invest in themselves. The day's schedule includes health and fitness assessments along with the creation of a personalized physical activity/exercise plan. Participants will also attend workshops on topics related to nutrition, motivation, and the importance of physical activity for women's health.
Tentative Schedule:
- 7:00 AM - Arrive at Godwin
- 7:15 AM - Bloodwork, bone density scan, and personal wellness questionnaires
- 7:30 AM - Breakfast
- 8:30 AM - Roundtable discussion
- 9:30 AM - Fitness testing
- 12:00 PM - Cooking demo/lunch
- 2:30 PM - Roundtable discussion
- 3:30 PM - Physical activity workshop
- 4:30 PM - Discussion of data results
- 6:00 PM - Dinner
Goal: To empower women to improve thier health by providing clinical and fitness assessments coupled with personalized plans.
Who: Women ages 50 and older.
When: Spring 2025 date coming soon.
Where: JMU’s campus – Godwin Hall and Health and Behavioral Sciences buildings.
Cost: $40.
