Class of 2024

Willa chose ISAT because she was interested in STEM but wanted to avoid committing to anything specific. “Once I heard about ISAT, it was exactly what I was looking for – undecided for STEM.”

Becoming an ISAT Ambassador was a natural choice for Willa, driven by her passion for the major. She recognizes that many incoming first-year students at JMU may only discover ISAT after they've committed to a major. Her aspiration as an Ambassador is to guide others in finding ISAT – a major that enables students to explore various avenues before settling on a concentration.

Willa is a founding member of JMU's Theta Tau, a coed Engineering, ISAT, Computer Science, and Computer Information Systems fraternity. Willa loves spending time with friends, whether playing games, watching movies, or finding a cool hiking spot.

How is ISAT preparing you for your future?

“ISAT offers courses that help me approach problems in a holistic way. Through this major, I have been taught different ways to think and taken classes I would have never imagined taking.”

Advice for prospective students

“Try new things. No one goes to college knowing exactly what they want to do, and the only way to figure it out is to try new things. Reach out to your professors if you need help with picking classes. ISAT faculty are one of a kind, and they genuinely care about your well-being.”
