Scholarship Overview

The Purpose of the Gift is to create the Michael L. Carrier ('87, '91) Memorial Scholarship Endowment in the College of Business in memory of their son, Michael L. Carrier. Memorial gifts were received previously at the family's request and in conjunction with these gifts, Dr. and Mrs. Carrier would like to establish an endowment for a scholarship to be awarded annually to students pursuing a major in the College of Business.

Eligibility Requirements

• To qualify as a Carrier Scholar, the recipient must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
• Selection of recipients will be made in a manner determined at the discretion of the Dean for the College of Business. Beyond these criteria, the appointment of students to receive these scholarships will follow the University’s guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.
• To be considered for the Michael L. Carrier ('87, '91) Memorial Scholarship, an applicant must satisfy the specified conditions listed above.

Special application requirements

This scholarship specifies a “need component”. To be eligible you MUST HAVE A CURRENT FAFSA on-file with the James Madison University Office of Financial Aid.
