An endowed scholarship created with a gift made by Janet Ferguson for the benefit of James Madison University and will provide the financial resources to establish and support the Ferguson Family Scholarship Endowment in the College of Business.

Eligibility Requirements

• Through this Scholarship, funds will be provided annually to one or more outstanding undergraduate student scholars enrolled in the College of Business
• Who demonstrate a need for financial assistance, as determined by the University's Office of Financial Aid.  
• The appointment of a student as a Ferguson Family Scholar shall follow the University's guidelines for the awarding of scholarships; provided, however, that the following criteria shall be part of the decision-making process.  Specifically:   
  • Students must be residents of Augusta County or the City of Staunton at the time they are considered as candidates for this scholarship. 
  • Students shall not be selected for this scholarship solely on the basis of their academic achievement, but, may be considered on the basis of their potential and need. 
  • In the event that there are no students from Augusta County or the City of Staunton eligible to receive this scholarship in a given year, then the scholarship may be awarded to a student who is a resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia.    
• To be considered for the Ferguson Family Scholarship, an applicant must satisfy the specified conditions listed above.

This scholarship specifies a “need component”. To be eligible you MUST HAVE A CURRENT FAFSA on-file with the James Madison University Office of Financial Aid.
