Contribute to the development of both students and computer science and help sponsor the next great innovator.
In Computer Science, JMU students and faculty seek to connect new research and technologies to the world around them. “Students need to know more than technology,” said Dr. Bob Kolvoord, Dean of the College of Integrated Science and Engineering. “They learn how to invent the best solutions that can be implemented. They’ll learn theory, but they’ll take that and apply it in novel ways to solve interesting computing problems.”
Your support of JMU’s Computer Science program can continue to:
- Help students develop mobile applications
- Develop the program’s strong emphasis on cyber security
- Enable students to participate in hack-a-thons
- Understand cyber attacks through digital forensics
- Investigate embedded computing
- Apply ethics in computing
As computer technology continues to change at a rapid pace, your contribution will also assist the program in inventing new and relevant courses, developing study abroad programs, and better connecting students to business and industry. Your gift builds connections and kickstarts careers.
JMU’s Computer Science students and faculty believe that it’s not enough to just do the research; they want to connect it to the world and share it.
That’s how the national model of the Engaged University operates. Your gift makes it possible.
