Thank a Thousand Dukes
At the "Thank a Thousand Dukes" events during I Heart JMU week, we honored the generous people who have made the Madison Experience a reality for past, present and future Dukes.
We came together to spread love and appreciation for those who support our vibrant JMU community. Check out the video »
If you've made a Giving Day gift already, thank you! Keep an eye on the totals for your favorite campus causes at jmu.edu/givingday. If you've been waiting for the right moment to donate, now's the time: Give Now.
1. Look! The signs of giving are literally all around you.
During the week leading up to Giving Day, signs on campus mark a dozen sites where you can see what past contributors — who made gifts of all kinds and sizes — have done to make a difference for today’s students.
2. Grab and Go: Stop by cookie stations on campus.
Cookie carts around campus! YES. It’s happening. Look for two cookie carts on campus as we partner with colleges and departments to bring you swag, fun and show you what it means to Give Like a Duke. Who knows what special events you might catch or who might be driving your cookie cart? Keep your eyes out!
3. Finders Keepers – and Givers: Discover "Mad Money" boxes
This is for students only. Find the boxes hidden on campus and get to feel the power of giving. You get to feel the power of giving, thanks to donors (you may even know a few). You donate the money inside to your favorite Giving Day fund and you keep the swag.

4. Feeling the love? Drop in at our Giving Day HQ.
Come handwrite a few thank-you cards that will go to Dukes who make gifts this year, and take some JMU swag when you leave. We’re located in the Leeolou Alumni Center's Great Room until 7 p.m. (Leeolou is connected to Festival: just walk down the hall past the upstairs dining tables and study rooms, then through the glass doors. The Great Room will be on your left.)
5. Late-night breakfast: Come and get it!
The University Program Board and the Office of Annual Giving present a special edition of LNB with university leaders behind the counter to serve you plus a celebration of the day’s success at midnight. It all happens in the lower drum at the Festival Student & Conference Center starting around 10 p.m.
