COVID-19 Update - Sept. 17

JMU News

Dear JMU Family,

Update on Cases

The university observed 5 new positive cases of COVID-19 on Sept. 16, as well as 11 self-reported positive cases, with 28 cases becoming considered “recovered,” meaning they were diagnosed as positive more than 10 days ago and are no longer infectious. The number of open quarantine and isolation beds has increased to 75, and the percentage of positive test results continues to fall. More information can be found on the university’s Stop the Spread dashboard. De-densifying campus was a necessary step to protect the community. However, individuals must continue to follow public health guidance by wearing masks, maintaining physical distance and washing hands frequently.

Stay safe, and please remember that the only vaccine currently available for COVID-19 is solidarity. And download the COVIDWISE app!
