Doreen Liccione (’92), an academic adviser in the College of Business, became the first JMU employee recognized as a “Game Changer” Saturday for her outstanding work benefiting the university and the JMU Athletics Department.
Liccione was recognized alongside her family and COB representatives during Saturday’s home football game.
JMU Athletics plans to recognize Game Changer honorees from each of the university’s eight colleges at home football games throughout the season.
Liccione was nominated for consistently going above and beyond to help her advisees’ succeed. “While assisting Hart School of Hospitality, Sport and Recreation Management as an adviser this past spring, she engaged with and positively impacted several scholar athletes,” the nomination stated. “She is often tapped by coaches to meet with prospective student-athletes, especially volleyball. Her dedicated work with the university’s Constituent Relationship Management system implementation this past year benefited JMU’s academic advisers and the students they serve, making her a ‘game changer’ on this field, too.”
Liccione graduated JMU with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and is now working on a master’s degree in Business Administration at JMU.
She was accompanied Saturday by her husband, Shaun, and their two daughters, Gabby and Alexandra, who are JMU students.
