Residence halls opening early
JMU News
Dear JMU students,
Happy New Year! On behalf of the JMU campus community, we hope you had a restful break and look forward to the start of a successful academic year.
It is anticipated that the communities surrounding campus, in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, will have winter precipitation over the weekend. While it is still too early to predict, we want to ensure students arrive safely to campus.
Residence Halls will now reopen on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. Students living in residence halls on campus will receive an email to your Dukes email with specific information on your early return. Please be sure to read all of this information prior to your arrival on campus.
The following dining services will be open on Saturday, Jan. 18:
• Mr. Chips: Open Saturday from 2 to 7 p.m. • Jennings Hall P.O.D.: Open Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight • D-Hall: Open Saturday for lunch (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and dinner (4:30 to 7:30 p.m.) Meal plan punches will still begin on Sunday at brunch. Early arrivals to campus on Jan. 18 will need to use dining dollars, flex or a credit card for food purchases.
It is important that you prepare for the anticipated winter weather before traveling back to campus. Please monitor the local weather in Harrisonburg and road conditions along your route.
