Julie Walters Named Major Gifts Officer

JMU welcomes Julie Walters, who has joined the Development Team as a Major Gifts Officer for the College of Business. In this role, she will be working with the CoB Director of Development David Grimm in managing and developing outside funding sources for the College of Business.

Walters recently moved to Harrisonburg from Dallas where she served as Executive Director of a charitable nonprofit called the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Before that, she was the Director of Communications for an Episcopal church in Dallas, the Creative Director for a private resort development company, and an Art Director on the American Airlines account for DDB Needham Advertising.

The daughter of a Distinguished Professor of Marketing, Walters spent much of her childhood on several major college campuses. She graduated from Nicholls State University, Thibodaux, La.,  with a major in Communication Arts and a minor in Business where her father was the Dean of the College of Business.
