JMU Students participtate in Virginia Graduate Education Day
NewsFive JMU Honors Program students attended the Virginia Graduate Education Day on Friday, October 30th at VCU in Richmond, VA. The Honors students were accompanied by three graduate students, the Dean of The Graduate School, Dr. Jie Chen, along with Associate Deans, Melissa Aleman and Michael Stoloff.
Students from JMU served on Student Panels and presented Graduate Student Research Posters. The primary goals of the event were to expand students’ knowledge of what graduate education is, inform them of the path to graduate education, and to encourage promising students from underrepresented backgrounds to consider graduate education in the Commonwealth of Virginia and beyond.
Students in attendance learned about opportunities at institutions across the state in graduate education and the benefits and opportunities that a graduate education provides.
