Technology-based Innovation and Entrepreneurship Town Hall

On September 10th, JMU hosted a site location for a Virtual Town Hall meeting -- Technology-based Innovation and Entrepreneurship -- featuring Governor Terry McAuliffe, Secretary of Technology Karen Jackson, and Secretary of Commerce and Trade Maurice Jones.  Joining our state leadership in Richmond and colleagues from seven locations around the state were 18 local entrepreneurs, innovators, and educators.  The purpose of the meeting was to provide the Governor and the Secretaries with an opportunity to hear from entrepreneurs and innovators regarding strategies the Commonwealth could employ to strengthen Virginia’s ability to attract and produce entrepreneurs and make Virginia a more intensive innovation location.  The event was made possible through the JMU 4-VA Cisco Tele-presence video conferencing technology.  Follow the link for a full recording of this discussion.  Make sure to check the JMU Research and Scholarship website often for updates on JMU activities supporting entrepreneurship and innovation.
