NewsSUMMARY: Women for Madison enjoyed an exclusive behind-the-scenes peek at the renovated JMU Convo Center and a tailgate brunch before watching JMU’s volleyball game against South Alabama.
Women for Madison mothers, daughters, donors, friends and fans were among those who flocked to the Convo Center on Saturday, November 2 for Women for Madison’s Brunch with a Spike event. Outside the Convocation Center, Hart School students greeted event attendees with smiles and a custom-carved pumpkin.
Once inside the Convo, guests were welcomed by JMU Athletics staff and taken on a tour of the facilities used by student athletes and coaches daily.
Arttendees were all ears as JMU Volleyball Head Coach Lauren Steinbrecher (center) described the facility upgrades and features that student-athletes now enjoy.
Volleyball players Emma Klanica (left) and Ayen Nhial were on hand to add a student perspective to the presentation.
Delethea Quarles (far left) is not only JMU Director of Track & Field and Cross Country; she was also a two-time All-American heptathlete and was the Women’s Jumps Coach for Team USA at the 2024 Summer Olumpics.
After the insider tours, guests enjoyed what was probably their first-ever tailgate brunch before they went back into the Convo to cheer on the Volleyball team.
