Why I want to serve on the Task Force:
As a Co-chair for the PreK-12 Committee for the University Task Force on Racial Equity, I am excited about increasing the pre-college touchpoints at JMU for diverse PreK-12 students in the local community and beyond. As a first-generation black female, I know first hand what it means to walk onto a college campus and feel welcomed and comfortable before ever applying. Being a part of this committee means that I help create connections for students who look like me and support this institution in understanding the importance of equitable and inclusive opportunities for diverse prek-12 youth.

Build relationships, work together toward our mission, understand the different perspectives, and value all members' voices.
