Spring 2020 courses to have changed to credit/no credit grading. Provide course and section (i.e. MATH 205, 0005)
As well as confirmation of your understanding of the below information:
- I have discussed these changes with academic advisors to ensure there are no unforeseen consequences of switching to credit/no credit such as accreditation requirements within the major or minor or future application to graduate or professional schools.
- The decision to switch to credit/no-credit is irreversible.
- Courses that are repeats of previous attempts are not eligible for "CR/NC".
- Grades of "C" or better will convert to "CR" and will earn the number of credit hours designated for the class. Grades of "C-" and below will convert to "NC" and no credits will be earned for the class.
- Grades of "CR/NC" carry no quality grade points and are not used in the computation of semester or cumulative grade point averages (GPAs).
- Courses earning a grade of "CR" will count toward credits to graduate, but courses earning a grade of "NC" DO NOT EARN CREDITS.
- Course prerequisites that require a certain letter grade will remain unsatisfied with a "CR" grade. In those instances, overrides will need to be requested from and issued by academic units to add the class.
- If a course counts as part of a group of courses required to be admitted to a major where grades are averaged, consult with advisors because the "CR" grade will not be included in the calculation for the GPA requirement.
