Welcome to the James Madison University Fulbright Celebration page! Fulbright is an extensive, global, far-reaching program with the capacity to change the way we see the world: “Led by the United States government in partnership with more than 160 countries worldwide, the Fulbright Program offers international educational and cultural exchange programs for passionate and accomplished students, scholars, artists, teachers, and professionals of all backgrounds to study, teach, or pursue important research and professional projects.”

Multiple offices across campus are delighted to support Fulbright at JMU. The Office of Fellowships and Awards assists and mentors undergraduate students, graduate students and alumni in applying for the Fulbright US Student Program, which takes recipients abroad for 8-13 months. The Center for Faculty Innovation works with JMU faculty looking to go abroad on short-term or long-term grants. Departments, colleges and offices across campus, including the Center for Global Engagement, work to support international Fulbrighters who want to come to JMU. The Fulbright Advisory Committee looks for ways to advance and celebrate Fulbright at JMU. Countless faculty and staff assist each year in prepping and interviewing student candidates, writing letters of recommendation, and mentoring Dukes. Together, we’re building an international Fulbright-JMU ecosystem. Please join us in celebrating Fulbright, especially those who have applied in the last two years. We hope you will join us in recognizing our applicants, and we also hope you are inspired to apply for Fulbright yourself or recommend Fulbright to other faculty, staff, students or alumni!
