Scholarship Overview
An endowed scholarship established by Dr. Cecil D. Bradfield, this scholarship intended to benefit JMU students pursuing majors in Sociology and Social Work. This scholarship shall be awarded to a full-time JMU student who meets the following criteria:
- Rising sophomore, junior or senior, with a GPA of at least 3.0, who is majoring in sociology or social work.
- Demonstrates Need as determined by filing the Free Financial Aid Form by March of the enrolling year.
- Demonstrates commitment to community service and advocacy for the underprivileged.
The recipient will be chosen by a committee consisting of members of the sociology and social work departments. The scholarship will be administered by the Office of Financial Aid upon the recommendation of the committees of the respective departments: Sociology and Social Work. The scholarship shall be awarded to a student in Sociology in even years (beginning in 2002) and in Social Work in odd years (beginning in 2003).
